    On the 13th May 2014, an accident occurred at an underground mine in Soma, resulting in the tragic deaths of 301 courageous miners. Following this terrible event, there have been numerous discussions regarding regulation amendments and the mandatory requirement to have Refuge Stations installed in all underground mining and tunnelling environments in Turkey. – More information

  • Zambia Embraces Safe Refuge Procedures

    In June of this year, Konkola Copper Mines in Zambia experienced a truck fire in one of their underground maintenance bays, obstructing all exit paths for miners working on that level. With no safe refuge available on-site, the incident resulted in the hospitalisation of 80 miners due to severe smoke inhalation. – More information
