Air Quality
Management

MineARC offers a range of air quality management products, designed to create safe, breathable air for personnel sheltering in an enclosed space.

During entrapment, carbon dioxide is expired by the occupants as part of their normal breathing activity. Carbon monoxide and other toxic gases can also enter the main chamber via the compressed air intake (if it becomes compromised), and as occupants enter and/or exit the main chamber entrance.

The range includes scrubbing, filtration and gas detection products; all important and life-saving equipment that should be considered when developing a safe refuge plan.

MineARC’s new Compressed Air Management System (CAMS) marks the beginning of a new era in refuge chamber technology. This ground breaking piece of equipment was launched in July 2015, after more than a year of research, development and testing conducted by MineARC’s engineering team.

STANDARD FEATURES

Filter Clips

Precision engineered clip-in/clip-out system allows for quick and easy filter change-over; minimising damage to parts and reducing service time by up to 80%.

Air Toxicity Monitor

Automatically diverts mine air if oxygen levels in the airline fall below a set level.

Flood Protection Filter

Automatically shuts down mine air in the event of water ingress.

Pre-Filter

0.5 micron pre-filter to remove solid particles from the air.

Coalescing Filter

0.01 micron coalescing filter to trap and remove liquid, oil and water from the air.

Absorption Filter

0.01 micron absorption filter to absorb smells and odours from the air, making it suitable and comfortable for breathing.

ENQUIRE BROCHURE

  • AirGEN Scrubber

The MineARC AirGEN is a standalone air regenerative system that ‘scrubs’ the air inside enclosed spaces, removing harmful gases such as CO (carbon monoxide) and CO2 (carbon dioxide) – a vital requirement for any sealed environment sheltering human life for an extended period of time.

Only a shelter that is completely sealed from the external environment guarantees safety from the ingress of smoke and other harmful toxins. Both CO and CO2 can become lethal in high concentrations. This valuable life saving equipment has been designed to operate standalone in any refuge chamber, safe haven, bomb shelter or survival shelter. – More information

  • Carbon Monoxide Safety Off System

Suitable for all MineARC refuge chamber models, the MineARC carbon monoxide Safety Off System (CMSOS) enables the automatic shut off of compressed air if carbon monoxide (CO) levels are detected in excessive amounts.

The SOS system is designed to protect occupants from potentially fatal CO which can be pumped into the chamber if the compressed air supply is compromised. – More information
