MineARC Showcases ChemSAFE Technology at China Chemical Safety Symposium.

MineARC recently exhibited at the 3rd China International Chemical Process Safety Management Symposium & Exhibition on Chemical Safety Technology and Equipment in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province on 21-22 September 2017.

The Symposium is a biennial event co-hosted by the China Chemical Safety Association and the National Centre of International Cooperation in Work Safety.  Attended by over 500 delegates, it is the premier event for professionals within the Chinese chemical industry. The headlining theme was to ‘Promote Chemical Process Safety Management, Build Risk Prevention and Control Systems’.  Both local and international speakers presented a wide range of topics related to PSM; sharing concepts and case studies.

Concurrent to the Symposium, an Exhibition showcased the latest safety technologies, equipment and services for chemical manufacturing applications. As exhibitors, MineARC showcased the ChemSAFE Safe Haven, which received attention from many attendees previously unaware of MineARC’s range of emergency response solutions and proprietary technology.

Based on feedback from several delegates, many plants lack the adequate refuge facilities to protect personnel in the case of a large-scale emergency such as a gas leak.  While some chemical processing plants have Shelter-In-Place (SIP) type facilities usually fitted with positive pressure systems, there appears to be less awareness around the importance of air tightness, the monitoring and scrubbing of potentially hazardous gases, and other life support systems such as air-conditioning.  ChemSAFE Safe Havens are an airtight, transportable and cost-effective alternative to site building modification.

MineARC’s China Country Manager, Davy Li, was on hand to explain the features of the ChemSAFE; including the Series IV Scrubber, iVAN, the GuardIAN Remote Monitoring & Diagnostics System, Aura-FX Digital Gas Monitoring and various design possibilities such as portable, shelter-in-place and custom-engineered solutions.  Overall, the feedback was positive, and we look forward to the opportunity of working proactively with companies to improve the safety of chemical manufacturing plants in China.

MineARC wishes to acknowledge and thank the China Chemical Safety Association for their support throughout the event.
