MineARC Systems’ Latin-American General Manager, Roberto Breyer, was excited to attend the XIV EXPOMIN in Chile this past April.

As the most influential mining exhibition and Congress in Latin America, EXPOMIN is a great opportunity to introduce new products and technologies into the mining industry. With more than 1,700 companies in attendance and 80,000 visitors, MineARC was present as an exhibitor and was able to exchange information with key players in the industry from across the world.

There was great interest in MineARC’s permanent refuge chamber componentry and ancillary products on display. In particular, MineARC’s refuge chamber range drew the attention of several Columbian companies, who are currently undergoing an overhaul in mining standards and regulations in the industry.

Without a doubt, our Hyperion Cap Lamp range was the star of the MineARC booth due to the unique compact design and long-lasting, powerful LED light. Available in both a corded and cordless model, the range is complemented by a versatile charging rack, constructed from robust powder coated steel. To view the HyperION range, please click here.

MineARC’s Rescue Dog Through-the-Earth Communication System was also of great interest also. Designed to provide critical communication between surface and underground, the Rescue Dog can assist in determining the location and status of trapped personnel during an emergency when all other systems have failed. Relying on minimal fixed infrastructure, the Rescue Dog is capable of communicating directly through the earth at distances of up to 5000ft. The MineARC Remote Activated Stench Gas Unit (RASGU) was also on display at Expoimn. Stench Gas is becoming increasingly adopted throughout South American mines to be used in underground ventilation systems as an alert gas for emergency evacuations. Designed to be operated remotely via any network device, the below-ground stench gas units will send a clear and definitive odor in the event of an emergency; alerting personnel to the initiation of emergency response procedures. MineARC also provides anti-stench and wintergreen units, used to neutralize the pungent smell of stench gas once the all-clear has been given and allowing production to re-commence quickly.
