MINEARC TUNNELSAFE MSV DESIGN A FINALIST IN 2016 ITA AWARDS
MineARC were pleased to once again be nominated as a finalist in the 2016 ITA Tunnelling Awards late last year. MineARC were recognised for the innovative design of the TunnelSAFE Multi Service Vehicle Refuge Chamber, the latest in our extensive range of safe refuge options for the tunnelling industry and the first of its kind in the world.
On 11th November, China Business Development Manager Davy Li attended the technical conference and awards dinner along with 30 other finalists, where he had the opportunity to present the MSV Refuge Chamber to the industry.
The TunnelSAFE MSV Design has been developed as an alternative to MineARC’s Rail Design based on industry demand. Designed to be mounted to a multi-service vehicle, the TunnelSAFE MSV chamber can be fitted with the client’s own remote control system, allowing the vehicle to be operated from within the refuge chamber. The chamber’s mounting points are custom engineered to specifically match the client’s MSV, allowing easy bolt-on installation.
The standard TunnelSAFE MSV range is fully compliant with ITA and BSEN 16191 Guidelines, with the option for clients to customise the shape, capacity and internal layout of the chamber. MineARC also offers a range of upgrades and special features such as a temperature control misting system, high ambient air conditioning and digital fixed gas monitoring.
The TunnelSAFE MSV Design has already been adopted by several projects across Europe, including the Brenner Base Tunnel in Austria and the Lyon-Turin Project in France. These refuge chambers are currently positioned on-site, ready for use in the event of an emergency.
