Mining Indaba 2018: Innovation & Technology

By Jason van Niekerk, Business Development Manager, Greater Africa

MineARC Systems, in partnership with Austrade, visited the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa to attend, Investing in African Mining Indaba 2018.

As the world’s largest mining investment conference, the event brings together global mining companies, investors and stakeholders as well as local government. Focusing on the advancement of mining across Africa, exhibitors and attendees gathered valuable insights from influencers and decision-makers vested in African mining. Importantly, the conference provided the ability to collect intelligence on how the confidence in mining across the continent ranks in the current financial and political climate.

MineARC continues to invest time and resources into the enhancement and development of products to meet the needs of our clients and the resource industry.

Mike Lincoln, General Manager and Jason Van Niekerk, Business Development Manager, met with a number of interested parties to discuss new MineARC technologies, products, and ideas – collectively known as System Intelligence – which is designed to improve productivity, cost savings and safety across mining operations. Included in this range is the GuardIAN Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics System, Aura-FX Digital Gas Monitoring, as well as the soon to be released SiriUS Cap Lamp.

From the event, it was welcoming to see a universal drive to focus on safe and sustainable mining. Successful mining in Africa is reliant on putting a substantial value on improving infrastructure and productivity as well as being cognizant of the real and ever-present hazards on a mine site and thus drive the need for adequate emergency response procedures and equipment.
