Battery Backup (UPS)

The emergency battery backup system serves as an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) for the refuges life support systems in case of failure of the mains (mine) power supply: scrubbing system, internal emergency lighting, warning lights, siren, digital gas monitoring, radio and air conditioning.

Should ‘mains power’ fail the battery backup system will power the refuge’s life support systems for a minimum of 36 hours standalone, with an upgrade to 72 hours available. The battery backup system remains charged while connected to mains power supply, with temperature compensated charging ensuring prolonged battery life. Systems can be fitted with a UL listed transformer to match the incoming mains power supply.
