    MineARC Systems, in partnership with Austrade, visited the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa to attend, Investing in African Mining Indaba 2018. 

    As the world’s largest mining investment conference, the event brings together global mining companies, investors and stakeholders as well as local government. Focusing on the advancement of mining across Africa, exhibitors and attendees gathered valuable insights from influencers and decision-makers vested in African mining.     MineARC Africa was recently invited to speak at the 2017 Annual General Meeting of the Zimbabwe Association of Mine Managers (AMMZ), marking the third consecutive year that MineARC has been given the privilege of presenting.   • Safety a Focus at Largest Zambian Mine Site

    MineARC is pleased to have collaborated with Mopani Copper Mines PLC as they implement corrective action to strengthen the integrity and importance of safety on site. Recognising the value of emergency response preparedness, Mopani recently acquired 12 MineARC Refuge Chambers to ensure personnel are adequately protected when working underground. – More information

  • South African Mine Site leads the way in Refuge Chamber Maintenance

    MineARC’s relationship with Palabora Mining Company (PMC) continues to grow, as the mine site embraces regular servicing and refuge chamber upgrades. PMC purchased their first MineARC Refuge Chamber in 2013; the first chamber to be manufactured and supplied out of MineARC’s South African facility. Since then, they have purchased a further two 26-person MineSAFE Standard Design chambers, as well as six Permanent Refuge Chambers, the largest accommodating 100 people. – More information

  • Compact EnviroLAV Provides Space Saving Advantage to South African Sites

    The EnviroLAV is proving popular in Africa, with the latest sales of two Compact Design units going to Wesizwe Platinum for use at their new Bakubung Platinum mine (BPM). Located near Pilansberg in North West Province of South Africa, the BPM mine is expected to produce around 420,000 ounces of platinum metals per year. – More information

  • Zimbabwe Leads Safe Mining Practice Legislation in Africa

    Zimbabwe has taken one step closer to becoming a leader among African nations with their stance on mine safety and minimum standards for the provision of safe working conditions for the local underground mining industry. Working alongside mining safety consultants Mike Lincoln and Jason Van Niekerk from MineARC Systems Africa, Mr. Shepherd Dhliwayo, Chief Inspector of Mines for the Zimbabwean Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, has submitted the draft of the proposed amendment to mine safety regulation which focusses on the requirement for underground refuge for all workers. – More information

  • MineARC Develops Custom Electric Stench Gas Network for Kamoto Copper Mine, Africa

    During 2015, Kamoto approached MineARC regarding the prospect of implementing a fully integrated stench gas network on-site in order to improve their wider Emergency Response Procedure. They required an automated system that would cover an underground area of around 5km, with the ability to disperse stench gas within 10 seconds to all active areas of the mine. – More information

  • South African DMR Regulations: A Step in the Right Direction

    Since November of 2014, South Africa’s Ministry for Mineral Resources has had new regulations in place regarding the requirements for safe refuge in underground mining. This has been a great step forward in modernising mine safety in a country with some of the world’s deepest mines; however the regulation falls far short of international standards. – More information

  • Zambia Embraces Safe Refuge Procedures

    In June of this year, Konkola Copper Mines in Zambia experienced a truck fire in one of their underground maintenance bays, obstructing all exit paths for miners working on that level. With no safe refuge available on-site, the incident resulted in the hospitalisation of 80 miners due to severe smoke inhalation. – More information
