    MineARC’s GuardIAN Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics System is an exciting new development in refuge chamber technology. GuardIAN enables real-time monitoring; providing confidence that an operation’s fleet of refuge chambers are emergency ready at all times.
     
    GuardIAN is an independent system that continuously monitors all vital refuge operating systems. During standby mode GuardIAN checks for component faults and monitors refuge chamber usage or entry to the chamber.
     
    GuardIAN is available as an option on any new MineARC Refuge Chamber or Safe Haven, and also to retrofit to existing chambers during an upgrade or refurbishment.

  • Aura-FX Digital Fixed Gas Monitoring

    Gas monitoring is an essential aspect of maintaining a life supporting atmosphere within the refuge chamber. During entrapment, occupants
    consume oxygen and expire carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) as part of their normal respiration. CO can also enter the chamber during occupant entry and if the compressed air intake is compromised.
     
    Closely monitoring gas levels in the chamber allows occupants to take corrective actions to maintaining a safe and inhabitable environment.
    MineARC’s new Aura-FX Digital Gas Monitoring System is a proprietary fixed gas monitoring unit, designed specifically for use in refuge chambers and safe havens.
     
    Aura-FX is standard on all new MineARC Refuge Chambers and Safe Havens. It is also available to retrofit to most existing chambers during an upgrade or refurbishment.

    The CoalSAFE International High Seam Refuge Chamber is designed to suit a range of underground coal mining environments. The chamber can be custom designed to client specifications, but typically features 12, 16 and 20 person configurations.

  • StormSAFE

    StormSAFE Cyclone Shelter

    Built to comply with the Australian Building Code’s ‘Region D Rating’ for tropical cyclones, and the Australian & New Zealand Standard AS/NZ1170.2, with a Building Code of Australia Importance Level of 4, the StormSAFE Cyclone Shelter has been engineered to withstand wind speeds in excess of 300km/hr.
     
    The StormSAFE Shelter features a fully portable, modular design comprising either stand alone chambers or a series of individual units that bolt together, creating a single internal environment. The design allows for easy disassembly and relocation as required. – More information

  • StormSAFE Lightning Shelter

    The StormSAFE Lightning Shelter is designed to protect against direct strike, flash over, and step potential.
     
    The chamber’s strike termination system captures the lightning discharge current and dissipates it harmlessly to earth via the down conductors and earth termination system; providing occupants a safe environment from hazards arising through exposure to lightning. – More information

  • Airlocks & Vestibules

    MineARC airlocks and vestibules are designed to act as a staging area between the enclosed protection of the chamber and the outside environment.
     
    They feature positive pressure flushing systems that ensure the out-flow of air; preventing the ingress of contaminants while the door is open for entry. The Positive Pressure Flushing System (PPFS) provides high speed pressurisation and is activated via a simple electric push-button system.
     
    MineARC offers a range of internal and external vestibule solutions designed to suit a wide variety of applications and entry requirements.

  • CoalSAFE MSHA Low Seam

     
     
    The CoalSAFE MSHA Low Seam is designed for underground coal mines with a minimum seam height of 46” (1.2m). The chamber can be custom designed to client specifications, but typically features 12, 16, 20 and 24 person configurations.
     
    Due to the height restrictions of low seam operations, the CoalSAFE Low Seam features a secure, separately transportable external cylinder bay (ECB) to house the oxygen and liquid CO2 cylinders required to power the refuge’s intrinsically safe internal life support systems. – More information

  • Blast Rating Upgrade

    An optional feature for all MineARC Refuge Chambers and Safe Havens is a blast rating upgrade.
     
    MineARC utilises highly specialised materials and engineering techniques to build chambers that can withstand the concussive forces of extreme blasts and explosions within heavy industry. Through careful analysis of a site’s application and hazard assessment, MineARC can engineer a highly customised refuge chamber or safe haven to meet their specific blast rating requirements.

  • Scoop Frame

    MineSAFE Compact Design Chambers can be upgraded to include a ‘scoop’ or ‘bogger’ frame, designed to enable easy transportation via an integrated tool carrier or front-end loader.
     
    Available only for 4 and 6 person chamber models due to weight restrictions, the scoop frame adds another element of maneuverability to the portable design. – More information

    ChemSAFE Standard Design

    The ChemSAFE Standard Design (SD) Safe Haven has been continuously refined to offer the latest in safe refuge technology, providing occupants with optimal safety features, functionality and performance.
     
    As MineARC’s most requested petrochemical design, the ChemSAFE Standard Design safe haven has been meticulously engineered to ensure ease of transport and a robust exterior. Constructed from 5mm (1/4″) steel plate with external steel support wraps as standard, the safe haven comes equipped with a skid base, lifting lugs and forklift slots to the sides. The steel structure can be further reinforced to withstand up to 12psi overpressure blast. – More information

  • CoalSAFE Change-Over Station

     
     
    The MineARC CoalSAFE Change-Over-Station (COS) is designed to aid underground personnel as they exit the coal mine during an emergency. The station provides a secure ‘staging-post’ stocked with replacement breathing apparatus.
     
    Inside the COS, breathing apparatus such as self-contained-selfrescuers (SCSR’s) can be changed over in safety while providing personnel the opportunity to regroup and continue to plan their escape.   • MineSAFE Compact Design

    The MineSAFE Compact Design (CD) is designed specifically for tight mining confines, such as single-entry development headings. This small, compact, ultra-portable refuge chamber is easy to manoeuvre and position around site.
     
    The Compact Design is designed for optimum autonomy. The chamber’s ‘extra-low-voltage’ control system means it can sit stand-alone for extended periods without requiring connection to mains (mine) power (around 6 weeks). – More information

  • MineSAFE Modular Design

    The MineSAFE Modular Design range is engineered specifically to accommodate tight underground confines and mines with restricted access, while still providing sufficient internal space to comply with international best practice guidelines. The range is designed to be easily manoeuverable around sharp corners and within tight mine shafts; it’s modular construction means each section can fit within a cage and then be fully assembled underground.
     
    Standard configurations area available based on occupancy – from 12 to 32 people. Each section of the refuge chamber features forklift slots and lifting lugs for easy transportation on-site.

  • MineSAFE Climate Control

    Avoidance and remedy of extreme temperature stress on workers is a common cause of delays and costly stoppages to work in underground mining. To date, methods for combating the possibility of heat stroke or hypothermia in underground mine sites include; ensuring that workers are appropriately clothed, are acclimatized to extreme temperature environments and are adequately hydrated and rested. This generally involves miners leaving the work area at regular intervals and travelling extended distances to an underground break room or to the surface.
     
    The Climate Control is a more time and cost efficient solution. It is a fully portable unit that can be placed in close proximity to the underground work area, and relocated as required. The shelter minimises time lost during legally mandated break times, which can contribute to several hours of wasted productivity per person, on every shift. – More information

  • MineSAFE Permanent Shelter

     
     
    A permanent refuge chamber (as opposed to portable) can often prove to be a more efficient and cost effective solution for an underground mine. In particular, mines that;
             
    • Have a large number of personnel underground at any one time,
    • Have low excavation costs, and
    • Where the regular movement of personnel underground remains within certain areas.
             
    Permanent refuge chambers therefore often double as break, rest and lunch areas, capable of sheltering upwards of hundreds of personnel at any one time. – More information
