  • MineARC Supports Emergency Response Training at the Reno Mine Rescue Competition

    During July of this year, MineARC was proud to sponsor the 2016 Metal and Nonmetal National Mine Rescue Contest, held in Reno, Nevada. Playing host to 37 mine rescue teams from 18 states, the competition challenged the skills and tested the knowledge of participants in a mock-underground environment created at the Reno-Sparks Convention Centre. – More information

  • First EnviroLAV Installed on TBM for French Tunnelling Project

    In a first for the tunnelling industry, French construction groups SPIEBATIGNOLLES TPCI, EIFFAGE GC has purchased an EnviroLAV toilet system for use on a tunnel boring machine at the Lyon-Turin project. The electrically powered EnviroLAV is positioned at the rear of the TBM gantry, allowing for quick and simple installation and service on site. – More information

  • Chilean Andes Hydro Power Project Relies on MineARC TunnelSAFE Refuge Chambers

    MineARC has recently been engaged to provide TunnelSAFE Refuge Chambers to a large scale hydro-electric engineering project in Chile. Tunnelling contracts have been awarded to two groups, both companies have placed high importance on safety as of foremost importance in the project and have instructed their TBM manufacturers that they require refuge chambers on the TBM’s. As a result the hydroelectric project now has a total of five MineARC TunnelSAFE Refuge Chambers incorporated in to the Emergency Response Plan (ERP). – More information

  • Custom Solutions for Tunnelling Projects Across Europe

    MineARC Refuge Chambers are in high demand at the Brenner Base Tunnel (BBT), with a fourth TunnelSAFE chamber due to be commissioned in April. A Joint venture of European construction companies, STRABAG and salini impregilo (Arge Tulfes Pfons – ATP) – responsible for construction of the Tulfes Pfons section located at Innsbruck in Austria. – contacted MineARC late last year to develop a customised refuge chamber solution. – More information

  • PORR Chooses TunnelSAFE Rail Design Chambers for Koralm Project

    During November of last year, MineARC BDM Thomas Horton visited the southern state of Carinthia, Austria to commission two TunnelSAFE Rail Design refuge chambers. Ordered by TBM supplier PORR AG, the Rail Design chambers were built specifically for use throughout the KAT3 phase of the Koralm Tunnel Project. – More information

  • Manual Stench Gas System

    MineARC’s standard manual stench gas unit comprises a set of twin gas cylinders housed within a durable steel cabinet with reflective signage, designed specifically for harsh underground conditions.
     
    The stench gas cylinders are manually activated via gas release valves on the top of the exterior housing. Pressure gauges indicate successful release of the gas. – More information
